I will focus on HO scale trains as I get more and more into this hobby ill be proving “How TO” videos and Demos of different aspects of model train railroading. My configuration will use DCC++, an Arduino, Raspberry PI, and JMRI software as I have found this to be an option that provides ability to customize my layout and keeps the costs low.
My HO model railroading journey started around Christmas of 2019. Going into 2020 all I had was an Arduino (with motor shield), with the DCC++ code and JMRI on my windows laptop. I didn’t have any track, engines or cars when I started. In early January of 2020 I picked up some of my fathers old cars and engines that are 30+ years old. After converting one of his old DC trains over to DCC and putting together and cleaning some old track that he had I hoked up the Arduino and was able to program the DCC decoder in the engine and get the train moving.
