Paint/Sand Blasting the engine bay.

I am so excited it’s time to start it’s time to start sandblasting the engine by so i can paint.

Why paint the engine bay?
After removing the front end of the ford and taking out the engine to be rebuilt, I decided that I would like the engine compartment to look nice before I put the engine back in. This adds a lot of class when you are showing off your work. It also shows that you are willing to put in the extra effort to make your car look good.

Why Sand Blast Paint the Engine Bay?
Sandblasting is a way to get all the rust off and prepare the engine bay for paint. This method is faster than using a wire paint stripper.

sand·blast (sănd′blăst′)
1.
a. A blast of air or steam carrying sand at high velocity to etch glass or to clean stone or metal surfaces.

b. A machine used to apply such a blast.
2. A strong wind carrying sand along.

What Color to use?
Well this is a hard discussion you want something that looks nice and that is able to show off the block. Since my original engine compartment was Black and my block will be painted black i think I may do a two tone in the engine compartment. I will use black about 6-12 inches down from the fenders to maintain the contrast then paint the lower white. Since the block is black I think this will really show off the craftsmanship on the block. It will also help to lighten up the block so you will see the little additions that may not be as noticeable on a completely dark engine bay.
